On a recent trip to visit family in the Midwest I had a food and beverage bonanza courtesy Chicago! As we make our way through October let’s put the pumpkins aside for just a moment and talk the real holiday of this celebration season kick-off month – Oktoberfest! Begun on October 12, 1810 as a public wedding celebration for the Munich King and Queen (obviously serving the nation’s trademark spirit – Beer) the celebration has shall we say intoxicated the world and 200 years + later it is considered the largest, happiest, prettiest, and most delicious festival of them all. Sorry Coachella! So back to Chicago – where Germans and a few Italians have combined to create a truly unique Oktoberfest with deep dish delish pizza and beer galore I began to think, as I often do, what about this meal could make me more beautiful. And as you might expect I found a way to justify one more slice and one more pint – all for the sake of – you got it Pretty Hurts. And yes it did the next day. So here are Rand’s Oktoberfest Beer Beauty Secrets (True every one) so go get a 6 pack of your favorite German brew mine is (Hacker-Pschorr Marzen Oktoberfest) and get pretty… – RR
Beer Face Pack:
Mix 1 tablespoon of yogurt, 1 teaspoon of almond oil, 1 teaspoon of olive oil, 1 egg white, and add a tablespoon of beer to the mixture and blend well. The beer will clean, soften and maintain the pH balance of the skin, egg whites will tighten the pores and the skin, almond oil and olive oil will moisturize the skin and help to keep you looking young. Yogurt will help make skin soft and keep it hydrated. You can even squeeze in some lemon (not more than one teaspoon) to tackle hyperpigmentation and tanning.
To Get Rid of any Residue Build-Up:
Overtime residue hair care products can build up on your hair. Beer helps to remove hair residue build-up. Simply combine six tablespoons of beer and one cup of tepid water. Use this as a final rinse after washing and conditioning your hair to remove residue build-up.
To Soften Tired Feet:
Endless walking not only tires your feet but also leads to cracked heels. Beer helps to get rid of the upper layer of dead skin and even soften them. Just soak them feet in some beer mixed with warm water and voila!
