Cambodia feasts are among the most fragrant and beautiful I’ve seen in my travels. A mild floral overtone symbolizes this rich Asian cuisine that features ginger, lemongrass and coconut flavors. What I adored about the food was the display – it is just so pretty and colorful makes your mouth water just looking at the table. Eating is a celebration and also a time for gratefulness. Some of the best days of the trip were highlighted by amazing meals. Everything is healthy, fresh lots and lots of herbs and the food is served in small bowls along with a fab sticky white rice. Yum. Some of my favorites were Fish Amok and Banana Blossom Salad (I mean the name alone right…) https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/banana-blossom-salad-recipe-2118068 two staples packed with nutrients to cure my many Tequila hangovers. The many fresh herbs in Cambodian food are super foods prepared in a healthy way. Turmeric and curry both great for anti-inflammatory issues and lemongrass long known for digestive and sleep disorders. When back in LA I plan on hunting down some great Cambodian eats to keep up this delicious adventure. If you know of any please send along or even better book a table and let’s go party! -RR
